BMT specialises in providing technical services in:

  • Environmental Assessment and Management
  • Flood & Coastal Modelling and Management
  • Urban Water Management
  • Catchment and Receiving Waters
  • Climate Change Impacts and Planning
  • Information, Spatial and Data Solutions
  • Specialist Field Investigations and Data Collection

The Role

BMT is pleased to announce the Vacation Program for 2018/2019.

Open to 3rd and 4th Year Civil and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology and Environmental Management Students, the Program offers 12 weeks paid vacation work at our Sydney or Newcastle office and a one-off payment of $1,000.

The program will commence during the 2018/2019 University summer break and, depending on the candidate, may continue throughout the University holidays of 2019.

The program offers the opportunity for high achieving and enthusiastic tertiary students to implement theoretical knowledge in a practical “hands-on” environment. We’ll work with the successful candidate to understand specific fields of interests and assign work that aligns to personal and professional goals.

The Individual

To help us determine the most suitable candidate for this opportunity, we ask applicants to select one climate change challenge Australia will face, with respect to the BMT business lines/technical services listed above, and present a potential solution that may mitigate/manage/adapt (or even benefit) from the challenge selected.

You can present your brief findings any way you wish- in a poster, short essay (2 pages maximum), video, LinkedIn article … use your imagination!

Other Requirements

The closing date for submissions is 2nd July 2018. Your application should include your themed submission, cover letter and current curriculum vitae describing your previous work experience, academic results and other extra-curricular activities and achievements. Applications will be assessed and a small group of candidates will be invited for interview mid-July. Successful candidates will be confirmed no later than early August 2018.
